The Time Capsule was a project to honour the 60th anniversary of Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda Hebrew Men of England. Pearl Grundland and Dale Gold assisted me in sifting through boxes and boxes of stored materials to locate the documents and photographs included in the capsule. Deanie Rumack, of blessed memory, agreed to help document the stories behind each of the artifacts. Having been a long-standing member of our congregation, Deanie was a wealth of knowledge, and, thanks to her efforts, we were able to preserve so much of our collective history that would have otherwise been lost. The Time Capsule is named for Deanie in her loving memory.
Thank you to the donors for their generous support of the Time Capsule, which we now have housed in several drawers below the display cases at the Elder Street entrance. The materials will be made available for viewing again on the Centennial anniversary of Beth Emeth, in 2059.
