Welcome from the President

Shaar Shalom - Kabbalat Shabbat Service andMeet and Greet our New Cantor

Welcome Shaar Shalom Members.

Dear Shaar Shalom friends,

I am posting this message to all the members and community friends of Shaar Shalom. I am deeply saddened by the events that culminated in the closing of your Synagogue. For almost forty years, Shaar Shalom has been a beacon of respect to the greater Toronto Jewish Community and a centre for Jewish prayer and learning. I had attended many smachot at Shaar Shalom over the years and found the Kehilla, the Congregational community, to be warm and inviting.  At Beth Emeth Bais Yehuda we recognize that your next steps and decisions in considering which Synagogue to call your future home is difficult. I have said on many occasions both in our own Synagogue and in the Community that Beth Emeth stands ready to extend our hands of welcome and to embrace you as our own.

We are as many of you already know, a Traditionally based Synagogue, 61 years strong, and unwavering in our commitment to uphold the values and traditions set out by our Founders. Unique in many ways, our strength has been our ability to hold fast to the traditions and practices that are time tested. We are a growing Synagogue with an elegantly maintained facility, proactive lay leadership, caring professional staff and an outstanding caterer. I hope that as you embark on the next chapter of affiliation, you join our Kehilla “our Family”. Please feel free to contact either our Executive Director, Pearl Grundland at 416 633 3838 or myself president@beby.org at anytime. We hope to see you soon and together make our great Synagogue even better!

Warmly,
Michael S. Kerzner
President.

We invite you to find out what makes Beth Emeth a great place to be. We would love to become your new Synagogue home.
