BEBY Boomers: Too Black to Be Jewish and Too Jewish to be Black

Rivka, a Jew of Jamaican descent born and raised in Toronto, seeks to build community among Jews of Colour in Canada while opening dialogue among the mainstream Jewish community about the experience of Jews of Colour. She is the co-founder of the group Jews of Colour – Canada and the sole Canadian recipient of the inaugural URJ’s JewV’Nation Fellowship.

Rivka is a recognized speaker on Jewish Diversity.  She is filming a documentary on Jewish Diversity and producing a podcast on Jewish Diversity called "Rivkush". 

She has lectured at Limmud, synagogues, JCCs, community groups and Hebrew Schools. Her story and work have been featured in several publications. She is the Executive Director for Beit Rayim Synagogue and School.
