BEBY Community Challah Bake

Join us for a very special BEBY Community Challah Bake

Thursday June 4th - 7PM

We will be gathering together on ZOOM, where Rabbi Howard Morrison will speak about the mitzvah of taking challah and how traditionally it has become a special time for davening for refuah (healing). Then we will share a community tefillah (prayer) for all of the frontline workers, with special mention of our BEBY members on the frontlines. If you cannot join us on the day on the Challah Bake, but would like to add the name of a BEBY frontline worker to the Tefillah list please add their name below.

Here you will find a challah recipe that our Executive Director, Candace Vogel, has used for many years, as well as some meaningful kavanot (intentions) to have in mind as you mix your dough ingredients, prior to our meeting together on ZOOM. When we convene on ZOOM, it will be at the point of braiding our challahs, together as a kehillah, prior to baking.

If you would like to join us on ZOOM with your pre-made dough to braid loaves of challah and to daven for the frontline workers and our BEBY community.

  • If you need flour and/or yeast for your challah. There will be a designated time for safely pre-measured quantities of each to be picked up from BEBY. (Flour and yeast is available on a first-come first-served basis, and will be picked up by pre-order on Tuesday June 2nd between 3pm and 5pm.)

We hope you will join us for this meaningful event!
