Shalom Everyone,
Summer is coming! The weather is beautiful, school will be wrapping up soon, and overnight camps are sharing their Covid safetly protocols as they prepare to open.
In shul, we are immersed in making sure that next year will be a meaningful Jewish experience for everyone, young and old.
First MAZAL TOV TO YAEL DANJOUX who will be celebrating her BAT MITZVAH this coming SUNDAY! Mazal tov also to her parents Ilan and Vanessa, and her brothers Aryeh and Yair. This past Tuesday's interactive conversation about parenting called "IT TAKES A VILLAGE" was great. We not only learned about recognizing and appreciating the uniqueness of each of our children, but we all got to commiserate on the challenges WE face, as parents, when we find everything overwhelming.
Because of the important nature of the conversation, we decided to continue the program every other week for the rest of the month. The next one will be on Tuesday, June 15, at 9pm. See the flyer below for details and registration.
MAZAL TOV to all the participants of the BEBY BNAI MITZVAH EXPERIENCE: MY PERSONAL JEWISH IDENTITY! We finished strong with a Pizza Party this past Thursday, after I tried my hand as a pizza delivery driver. It was so great to see everyone in person, and I look forward to seeing more of you all soon. Next year's program is already in the works.
We are also already working on programming for the year ahead. If you have a program idea, or want to take part in realizing the NEXTgen vision for Beth Emeth, please reach out directly. rabbidavid@beby.org or 647.207.0045.
As a community, our goal is to strive to support each other in every way. If you have any smachot to share, or if you are in need of anything, please let us know!

TORAH TALK FOR THE TABLE with Rabbi David
Parshat SHLACH - Seeing Yourself
In this week's parshah, 12 scouts visit the land of Israel to tell the nation of Israel what to expect when they go.
One of the things they say is that "we felt like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and that's also how the people who lived there saw them".
It is how they saw THEMSELVES that make them think that others felt the same way. This is true for all of us. When we look at ourselves a certain way, that is how we will think others are looking at us as well. When we are confident about who we are, then others will have confidence in us. If we feel we are only "grasshoppers", than even if someone compliments us, we will think that they actually think we are grasshoppers, and their compliments aren't real.
Let's all try our best to remember that we are children of HaShem, and that we are and have been a strong nation who has been able to overcome every challenge we have faced, always improving ourselves and always working to make the world a better place for others as well.
Questions for Discussion: 1. Why did the scouts think they were "grasshoppers"? 2. What is something that you like about yourself? 3. What is something that you want to improve about yourself? 4. How will you becoming better make the world better?
In this section we will be including programs, articles, links, and updates from our community members. It is one way we can all support each other - as a community!
