Shalom Everyone,
I hope you all had a great Shavuot. Thank God, the weather is getting really nice and we can all spend a lot more time outside more comfortably. It is a great time for celebration and I'm happy to say that we are celebrating TWO simchas in our community this week. MAZAL TOV to Sydnee Deutsch and Samara Goldfarb who are celebrating their Bnot Mitzvah TONIGHT with a special pre-Shabbat service! Mazal Tov to their younger brothers, Shayne and Jonah, and their parents Sender Deutsch and Marnie Shwartz, and Adam Goldfarb and Rena Schwartz.
MAZAL TOV to Daniel Noon who is celebrating his Bar Mitzvah this upcoming Thursday! Mazal tov to siblings Benjamin and Layla, and parents David and Leah Noon.
Both families are long-time, multigeneration Beth Emeth families and it is really exciting to celebrate together with you all!
Sadly, we have to also offer condelences to Erin Norris and Larry Davidson on the passing of Erin's grandmother, Min Mandel, of blessed memory. Condelences also to their kids, Rebecca, Judah, and Leah on the passing of their great grandmother. May you all be blessed with good memories. This year's BNAI MITZVAH EXPERIENCE "MY PERSONAL JEWISH IDENTITY" was a huge success.
THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES!
THURSDAY JUNE 3rd at 6:30pm we will be holding a special closing program in early June for participants and their families. Watch for the flyer with more information early next week.
I am also happy to announce that I will be leading an ALL NEW INTERACTIVEÂ CONVERSATIONÂ FOR PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN starting Tuesday night June 1st at 9pm, called "IT TAKES A VILLAGE..." Watch for more information!

Parshat NASO - Blessing the Future
The parshah this week includes the parent's 3-line blessing for their kids. The first line blesses our children with safety, the second line with light and grace, and the third line blessed them with peace.
It seems there is a progression:Â
First, before we can have anything meaningful in life, we have to have a sense of safety and security. If we don't feel safe in any given situation, we can be so distracted that every other part of life can suffer.
Second, we need to feel comfortable being ourselves. We each have a "light" to share with the world and no two people are the same. What we each have is unique and we should be building each other up with our "lights". The combined light of coming together shows our "grace" in the world. The more we come together, the brighter will our collective lights shine and we can experience a more graceful life.Â
Third, when we are all working together in harmony, empowering each other to shine our brightest lights, the more peace there will be in our own lives, and in the world.
This blessing is offered to our children because we all want to see a future with more safety, light, and peace, and we dedicate ourselves to helping our kids create that better future!
Questions for Discussion: 1. What is a "light" that you have, that no one else has?
2. How can you build someone up, when they feel down?
3. If you light one candle from another candle, what happens to the light of the first candle? What message does that teach you?
4. Describe a better future. How will you try to make it happen?
This year's BNAI MITZVAH EXPERIENCE is a wrap. I am so so proud of our Bnai Mitzvah participants. It was such a pleasure to watch them grow and integrate the different themes of Israel, Mitzvot, and Community into their PERSONAL JEWISH IDENTITIES.Â
THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES! THURSDAY JUNE 3rd at 6:30pm we will be holding a special closing program in early June for participants and their families. Watch for the flyer with more information early next week.
