IN THIS ISSUE: Message and Announcements from Rabbi David Torah Talk for your Table Upcoming Events for the BEBY NEXTgen Community - includes all age groups - NEW BNAI MITZVAH PROGRAM!!! BEBY NEXTgen Community Connection
Hey Everyone,
I hope are all doing well. For about a million reasons this has really been a stressful week. While I won't get into the details here, I do want to ask: how are you all managing? What tools and support systems do you have to help guide you through this challenging time?
I'm obviously happy to hear if you are doing well, but for anyone who might be struggling in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out. My phone is on 24/7 and I will answer if I can.
As a community we are all here to support each other. If you need an ear to listen, help finding resources and other supports your families need, please don't hesitate. With the colder weather coming, it is so important that we all take care of our mental health and your Beth Emeth community is here for you because you are us. The ALL NEW B.E.B.Y. BNAI MITZVAH PROGRAM is filling up! The whole program will be focussed on enhancing and connecting to our unique Jewish identities.
I have been working hard on UNIT ONE which will focus specifically on Connecting to Israel and how that impacts Jewish Identity. The initial flyer for the program is below. I'm really looking forward to the next two units as well as there are some amazing presenters and programs being lined up.
If you have a child who recently had, or is about to have their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, this program is for you. It will be fun, experiencial, educational, engaging, thought provoking and will give your Bnai Mitzvah kids a real sense of connection to our local and broader Jewish community. In coming E-blasts watch for announcements about all new opportunities to be together with our community!

TORAH TALK FOR THE TABLE with Rabbi David
Vayera Our parasha begins with Avraham in a deep meditation, connecting to HaShem. Avraham notices three strangers walking in the distance, interupting HaShem's visit, and RUNS to greet the strangers. He welcomes them into his home and HURRIES to tell Sarah to HURRY and make them food fast. Avraham RUNS to get the food that they will serve and brings it to the guests as FAST as he can.
Avraham was the King of Kindness. Sometimes, when we are going to help another person, we go slow. It is a lot of hard work and drains our energy. Avraham and Sarah teach us that when you have the chance to do a mitzvah, or any kindness, RUN. The most important thing you can do is to be kind to another person. The more energy we put into helping others, the more energy we will have to keep being kind.
Discussion Questions
What is the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?
What is something kind that you have done?
How often do you try and help others?
Do you look for opportunties to help or wait to be asked?
What did Avraham do?
Do you know what reward Avraham got for his kindness? If so, what?
In this section we will be including programs, articles, links, and updates from our community members. It is one way we can all support each other - as a community!
