Shanah Tova everyone! I hope everyone's Rosh Hashanah was incredibly meaningful. The feedback we've received from both the in-person and livestream participants has been resoundingly positive.
We are looking forward to a meaningful Yom Kippur as well, both in the main service and for our BEBY Families!
We also want to have fun though. Yom Kippurim (the full name of the Holiday) is sometimes called "Yom k'purim - a day like Purim". Just like we dress up on Purim, on Yom Kippur we dress-up all in white to look like pure angels.
I want to invite everyone to dress up this Yom Kippur - not only in your fanciest clothes, but as angels standing in front of HaShem. What does an angel look like? If you could be anything, what would you be? Dress the part!
*There are a limited number of Arts and Crafts packages available for pick-up from the shul. Email Rabbi David at rabbidavid@beby.org to arrange for yours.
MAY WE ALL BE SEALED FOR A HEALTHY, HAPPY, AND SWEET NEW YEAR! I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE AGAIN SOON!

TORAH TALK FOR THE TABLE with Rabbi David
Parshat Ha'azinu / Yom Kippur
This Shabbat we read the penultimate (second-last) parshah in the Torah. Moshe sings his to Heaven and Earth and teachings, through song, many important lessons. One that is central comes through the line "she'al aveecha v'yagedcha - ask your parents and they will tell you; zekaynecha v'yomroo lach - ask those with wisdom and they will answer you".
Then, on Yom Kippur, we ask HaShem to release us from the burdens of last year and we can approach a new year with a clear head. Through the power of the day itself, we are free to be our best selves.
While Ha'azinu tells us to ask our parents and our teachers about how to grow and be better, Yom Kippur directs us to ask HaShem to enable us to be our best.
