The Beth Emeth Youth to Young Family Email
Hey Everyone,
YOM YERUSHALAYIM SAME'ACH!!! This is one of the best days to be a Jew. Yerushalayim represents the heart and soul of the Jewish people, that place where we are shalem - whole. The building of Jerusalem also reminds us that we constantly work for Shalom - Peace!
As the "outside world" starts to slowly open-up, I think it is really important to remember that "God helps those who help themselves". We still have to be vigilant and cautious. Jerusalem was liberated 53 years ago, and Israel is still vigilant and cautious to not take that for granted, carefully measuring our actions to achieve a lasting Peace.
I'm not sure if it is just me, but these weeks seem busier than ever, and yet I always feel that I need to be doing more. The new routine is so variable, depending on the needs of the kids, family, and community, that it can hardly be considered a routine. Not a feeling of "at peace" at all, but still working on it.
Thank God, we all have our health, and everyone I have spoken to has been managing, despite challenges. One of the best ways to support each other is to connect.
This afternoon, at 5pm, we will once again have the opportunity to connect over ZOOM, singing with Bryna for our pre-Shabbat Sing-along. Make sure you mark it in your calendars, and I look forward to seeing you there!
TEENS: we are looking to create a Senior's Line. Some of the elderly in our community need some more human engagement. Let me know if you'd be interested in speaking to an older member of our community, or even just reading to them over ZOOM.
The shul is constantly creating more virtual opportunities for learning, praying and connecting. Check out www.beby.orgfor a full listing and follow us on Facebookto keep up on everything happening at the Virtual Beth Emeth.
If there is something that YOU want to see, please let me know by replying to this message. We will do our best to bring you what you want.
We, both the shul, but also more personally, Shira Rachel and I, are here for you during this COVID-19 experience. Physical and mental health are primary and we need to do everything possible and utilize every resource available to ensure that we stay healthy. Please, do not hesitate to call or email, 24/7, for any reason:

TORAH TALK FOR THE TABLE with Rabbi David
Parshat Bamidbar
The parshah this week begins the 4th book of the Torah. It describes how the tribes of Israel organized themselves when travelling through the dessert.
We all crave order in our lives and finding that order gives us a feeling of safety and security.
Discussion Questions
How do you organize your day? Do you have a daily schedule or is it random?
How do you feel when you have a plan and it doesn't work out? What do you do next?
What is a good way to set a plan and make sure you follow-through?
TEENS: we are looking to create a Senior's Line. Some of the elderly in our community need some more human engagement. Let me know if you'd be interested in speaking to an older member of our community, or even just reading to them over ZOOM.
We want to grow the program and need YOUR HELP! Email Rabbi David for more info.
