What a week this has been!? It is a new thing in the world, something I have never before experienced and a new reality that we are all still coming to terms with.
From the first week of home-schooling for the day school kids, and an @home March break for the public school kids, my head is spinning.
The shul is still closed. No programs. Livestreamed Tefillah on the BEBY Facebook Page as a way of creating some kind of shul connection. Daily blogs from the Rabbis and daily posts from the Cantor and myself. The full schedule of posts and classes is on the website - www.beby.org.
Follow Beth Emeth and Rabbi David on Facebook for daily inspiration in this challenging time.
We are all trying to navigate this whole experience together - learning new ways to be a community, often from the our own homes. How would you like to be connected? Reach out and let us know.
We, both the shul, but also more personally, Shira Rachel and I, are here for you during this COVID-19 experience.
Please, do not hesitate to call or email: Rabbi David - 647.207.0045 - rabbidavid@beby.org Shira Rachel - 647.217.1276 - davidshirarachel@gmail.com
I just want to add a quick photo and a brachah to each and every one of us:
I bless you with the awareness of these magical moments. Sure, over the last week - and probably weeks ahead - there has been and will be plenty of chaos, but let's also reflect on these moments, however many or few there are, that will make this Covid time be filled with Kavod - glory, honour, and inspiration!
HELP B.E.B.Y. BE THE BEST IT CAN BE! We are looking to create a community of involved leaders. Are you looking to...

SHABBAT SHALOM!!!

TORAH TALK FOR THE TABLE with Rabbi David
Parshat Vayakhel/Pekudei with special Parshat Hachodesh
This week's Torah reading begins by reminding us about the importance and value of Shabbat. It then goes on to list the step by step building of the Mishkan - of HaShem's "dwelling" in the dessert. From this juxtaposition, our sages learn the relationship between the acts of creative labour that we do during the week and how we ought to observe and honour Shabbat.
Discussion Questions
What is your favorite thing to do during the week?
What is your favorite thing about Shabbat?
What is the biggest difference between how you act during the week and how you act on Shabbat?
What is something you can do to make sure Shabbat is extra special?
Let me know your answers, either by emailing rabbidavid@beby.org or telling me at shul!
Shabbat Shalom!
