Dear BEBY Family,
As of now, we have made the very difficult but necessary decision to close down the shul for the foreseeable future due to the Covid 19 virus. As of now
there will be no more daily minyanim and no Shabbat minyan until further notice.
We completely understand that for those in their year of mourning and those who have Yartzeit in the upcoming weeks, this presents a very difficult situation. Variations of the mourner's kaddish which can be recited privately without a minyan are available on our website
www.beby.org.
From among the clergy, there will be daily Tefilah on-line as well pre-Shabbat and post-Shabbat Tefilah. We are in the process of putting together livestreamed on-line Torah study classes conducted by our clergy as well as weekly and daily Torah thoughts. If you need to speak to our clergy they will be readily available. You can contact them by email or cellphone.
The BEBY family will find our way through these trying times by working together, by remaining patient and remaining kind to one another. Finally,
if you have not yet updated your contact information (email, cellphone, etc) please do so by reaching out to the shul office at 416-633-3838.Funerals are now limited to only graveside, limited to 10-20 people under the age of 65 and clergy will NOT pay shiva calls. However we will reach out through cell phone, text message or email.
In last week's Torah portion, the Israelites built a golden calf because they feared the unknown. They no longer cared about each other and rebelled from within. Had they shown some faith in God, their leaders, and each other, the tragic episode could have been averted. Soon enough, Moses was going to come down from the mountain, and better days would have ensued.
Let's have faith in God, in each other, and in our synagogue leadership. Let us care for each other. Better days are coming.
