Rabbi Jennifer Gorman grew up in the Masorti/Conservative Jewish community, beginning with Hebrew school at a Conservative synagogue on Long Island, through Kadima and USY as a child, and later with USY, USCJ, Camp Ramah, Women’s League and Men’s Club, Schechter day schools, and the Rabbinical Assembly.  A graduate of Brandeis University, and ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary, Rabbi Gorman has a widely varying background, having worked in civilian and military communities in the United States and Canada, from Hawaii to New York, North Carolina to Toronto.  She is a contributor to The Women’s Haftarah Commentary, and is featured on a CD-Rom about prayer produced by the Jewish Student Union of the United States Naval Academy. Rabbi Gorman holds a certificate from the Department of the Army in the Spirituality of Trauma.

Rabbi Gorman is the Executive Director of MERCAZ-Canada and the Canadian Foundation for Masorti Judaism. Rabbi Gorman is the recording secretary of the Toronto Board of Rabbis, a past officer of the Rabbinical Assembly, Ontario Region, and serves on multiple committees of the Rabbinical Assembly. She is married to Rabbi Sean Gorman and the proud mother to Jesse, Gavriel, and Keren.
